If you think your doing yourself a favour by eating your conventional fruit and vegies – think again!
Watching a Sixty Minutes segment last night brought home the fact that there is too much reliance on regulatory bodies that are not adequately regulating our health and safety. Here in Australia we are serving ourselves up plates of poisonous chemicals that are banned and withdrawn from 62 countries world wide.
So how do you know if your subjecting yourself to these toxic poisons? You don’t!
Most vegetables including potatoes, eggplant, avocado, broccoli, cauliflower to name a few, are all regularly sprayed with a pesticide called endosulfan. And other fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes and strawberries, are sprayed with a fungicide called carbendazim. These chemicals are known human teratogens (cause birth defects) and have devastating effects on developing embryos.
In the meantime protect your health and buy only certified organic fruits and vegetables.
